GET TO KNOW US:

Our Beginning

The Bible Baptist Church began meeting together in the home of Pastor Kevin Beier as a Bible study in 2003.  A few months later we moved to our present location in the CWA.

Our Focus

Our name was chosen for a purpose.  One of our primary focus' is The Bible.  We understand that everything we know about life, death, eternity, our Creator, and salvation is to be found in the Word of God.  We also understand that God created us for His pleasure.  Therefore, in order to bring Him pleasure and learn everything we need to know, we spend a lot of our time in the Bible.  Sound, unbiased, Biblical preaching and teaching will always be heard at our meetings.

We also focus upon a personal, intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  This relationship begins with being saved.  (Please go to the "About You" page for further information). Following salvation, a close walk with the Lord is essential to the Christian's joy and purpose of pleasing God.  In preaching and teaching the Bible, we desire to help Christians know and obey the Bible and, in turn, to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

We also desire to develop a passion for missions.  The Bible clearly teaches the need for every Believer to be active in reaching the unsaved of this world through speaking the Gospel message, giving toward those who go to other cities and nations, and praying for God's blessing on both.

Our Practice

We are strongly Bible-believing and as such we are conservative in our practices.  The pull of the world, the flesh, and the devil upon Christians today is away from the conservative, godly practices of the Bible.  We pursue clean living, separated from the common practices of the world.  The Bible teaches that a life that is being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ will continually distance the Christian in word, deed, and appearance from the world's words, deeds, and appearances.  We understand that the Bible teaches a Christian culture which is unique and different from the world's culture.

Our Positions

The Bible -

The Bible teaches about itself that God both inspired and preserved His Word.  Through manuscript evidence, good old common sense, and faith, we hold to the position that the preserved Word of God in English is to be found only in the Authorised Version, also known as the King James Version.  We understand that God's preservation of His Word insures that our Bible is without error in any way.

God -

The Bible teaches that God is a Spirit.  He must be worshipped in spirit and in truth.  The title "God" is most often used in connection with God the Father.  However, God is composed of three Persons, known as the Godhead.  Those three Persons are, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit/Ghost.  They are in perfect harmony with one another and co-equally God.  Equality does not mean that each Person in the Godhead fulfills the same purpose or function.  Equality simply means they share the same attributes, abilities, and actions.

Jesus Christ -

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Son of God.  He was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, and sinless throughout His life.  He was God in the flesh.  Jesus paid the sin debt of all mankind, was in the tomb for three days, and rose from the dead on the third day making salvation possible to all who put their full faith in Him.  Jesus Christ is the only way a person can be saved.

The Holy Spirit/Ghost -

The Bible teaches that the Spirit of God serves many functions in the New Testament including baptising those who Believe into Christ, sealing all who believe on Jesus Christ as eternally secure, praying for Christians according to God's will, leading Christians into truth, and changing Believers into the image of Jesus Christ.

Salvation -

The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift given by God to all who will put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.  Salvation is independent of any works of any sort.  Any person can be saved and all people have the opportunity to be saved.  If a person is not saved, they will be cast into the lake of fire.  Salvation depends completely upon what the Lord Jesus did for mankind and is not exclusive to any one church, group, or type of person.  The person who desires to be saved must simply repent and put their faith in Christ.  Once saved, it is permanent and that is why it is referred to as having eternal life.

Music -

The Bible teaches a conservative approach to music.  Therefore, we sing "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs."  We do not believe that all contemporary music is wrong in and of itself.  Even the music we sing in our meetings was contemporary at one time, albeit in some instances that would have been a couple hundred years ago or more.  However, we see the error of the contemporary christian music movement.  The performance of music can also be wrong when it reflects the performance of unsaved people and groups.  We understand that what we sing and the way we sing it should reflect the holy character of the Lord as taught in the Bible and not the character of those who do not know the Lord in salvation.  We understand that music can be both pleasing and displeasing to the Lord and it is not a-moral.  Music should first speak to our spirit and not our bodies.

We are happy to discuss other topics and positions we take as a church upon being asked.  We are also happy to offer the Biblical references which guide our beliefs and positions.  This is simply a brief, stated summary of a few of our beliefs and practices as they are outlined in the Word of God.
